1.Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how RoastMania ("RoastMania", "we", "us") collects, uses and protects information when you use the RoastMania app (the "Service"). It applies alongside our Terms of Service.

2.Information We Collect

Account information: your username, email address, display name, password (stored only as a cryptographic hash), profile photo and bio. Location (country, state, city) is requested at signup and used for regional leaderboards — making it visible on your profile is optional and controlled by you.

Content you create: posts, roast entries, comments, votes and duel activity.

Device and technical information: a push-notification device token (if you enable push), and standard technical logs such as IP address, device type and crash data used to operate and secure the Service.

3.How We Use Your Information

We use the information above to:

  • Create and authenticate your account and keep the session secure.
  • Operate core features: feeds, battles, duels, voting, leaderboards, XP and titles.
  • Send you service notifications — duel challenges and results, followers, likes, comments and votes — in the in-app notification center and, if enabled, as push notifications.
  • Personalize regional leaderboards using your location, when you have made it visible.
  • Moderate content, investigate reports and enforce our Terms of Service.
  • Maintain the security, integrity and performance of the Service.

4.Location Information

Location is used to place you on regional leaderboards and award location-based titles. It is never required to be public: the "Show location publicly" setting controls whether other users can see it, and you can change it at any time in Settings. When hidden, location is used only in aggregate for ranking.

5.Push Notifications

Push notifications are delivered through Firebase Cloud Messaging, which processes device identifiers to deliver messages. You can disable push notifications entirely in the app's Settings, or by category in your device's system notification settings. Disabling push does not affect the in-app notification center.

6.How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:

  • Service providers that help us run the Service (hosting, push delivery, database operations), bound to process data only on our instructions.
  • Law enforcement or authorities, where we are legally required or where we believe it is necessary to protect the rights, property or safety of users or the public.

Aggregate, non-identifying statistics (for example, overall engagement counts) may be used to improve the Service.

7.Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secured cloud infrastructure with access restricted to personnel who need it to operate the Service. Authentication tokens are stored in your device's secure storage. We apply industry-standard technical and organizational measures — but no system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8.Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your information while your account is active, and afterwards only as long as needed for backup, legal or legitimate-business purposes. Content you delete is removed from the Service, though residual copies may persist in backups for a limited period.

You can delete your account at any time from the app's Settings; deleting your account removes your profile, posts and personal information in accordance with this policy.

9.Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your jurisdiction (for example under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise many of these choices directly in the app — edit your profile, change visibility settings, disable push — and can contact us at for anything else.

You may also withdraw consent (for example for push notifications) at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.

10.Children's Privacy

RoastMania is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum digital-consent age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below that age. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us at and we will delete it.

11.Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date always reflects the current version, and material changes will be surfaced in the app. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
